What It Defines
Coupes, for a long time, have been subject to liking and debate. GLC 300 Coupe Is no different. The Front End design of the GLC has been adopted, shoved into the blender with a single-slat chrome grille and multi-beam LEDs. The engineering end product is the COupe. Concentric Rings around the Mercedes Logo visually offer a widening effect to the front. Functionally, the multi beams are superb. Chrome is in abundance: side skirts, alloys, front and rear bumper, chrome significantly stands out on the body. The changes in the interior are subtle but in line with the regular GLC. The seats are generously large and comfortable. The dash layout is neat, thanks to the wooden panels. The 12.3-inch touchscreen is easy and crisp to operate.
Under the hood is a familiar 2-litre, turbo-diesel engine as in regular GLC but in a higher state of tune. 241 horsepower and 500 Nm of peak torque, the coupe feels slightly more eager and aggressive than the GLCC 220d. That reflects on the 0-100 numbers as well. While the regular GLC takes 8 seconds, Coupe is faster to 100 at 7 seconds.
